Laser hair removal uses targeted laser energy to reach the hair follicle directly, helping to progressively reduce unwanted hair growth. With the Venus Epileve diode laser, an ice-cold cooling tip helps keep the skin comfortable during treatment, while most clients describe the sensation as quick, mild rubber-band-like snaps.
By the 2nd–3rd session, you’ll typically begin to notice hair growing back finer and less frequently as the follicle is progressively targeted. Because the laser works on hairs in the active growth phase, a series of treatments spaced approximately 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. Venus Epileve works best on dark, pigmented hair because the laser targets pigment within the hair follicle. White, blonde, gray, and red hair may not respond as effectively due to their lower pigment levels.
The Process
How a session goes.
Clear ultrasound gel is applied to targeted area.
The diode laser applicator is then pressed to the skin, allowing pulsed red light to heat the hair down to the follicle. This causes the hair to eventually detach from the follicle and prevents regrowth.
Sessions are quick and comfortable. Mild redness or sensitivity following treatment is normal and typically dissipates quickly, usually within 15–45 minutes. We can also provide soothing aloe gel after your treatment to help calm any temporary redness or discomfort. For best results and to protect your skin, avoid direct sun exposure for 24–48 hours after treatment.

What to expect
Before Treatment
Prep the skin.
- Avoid makeup/lotions/deodorant the day of treatment.
- Discontinue topical or oral prescriptions that cause skin sensitivity 2–4 weeks before treatment.
- Avoid direct sunlight at least 3 weeks before and after to prevent hyperpigmentation.
- No waxing or tweezing for at least 3 weeks prior. Shaving is fine a couple of days before.
After Treatment
Be gentle for a couple of days.
Avoid exfoliation, shaving, and friction from clothing during exercise for a couple of days after treatment. Continue using sun protection and stay out of direct sunlight.
